I can understand their use with pressurized systems, but Model A's and Fords in the thirties had little, or no pressure. Over the last couple years two of the three Model T's I've bought have had waterpumps when I bought them. Plus in the day, some of the claims made by manufacturers for everything from love potions to tires tended to be more than a little inflated.
I removed the pump, and overheating issues stopped. There were a lot of aftermarket water pumps for the model T and I assume most installed them rather than clean out the combustion chambers occasiionally or because the well water used in their radiators clogged them somewhat and helped the engines to overheat. I think bronze rims will get profiled more by the police, and i don't really think the colors match so my vote it definitely black... but i think silver matches that color better.
