It's like standing on a dock. First some of the specs and then we'll get into what drives this thing. Replacement PDL (Pedal) Prop, compatible with all Old Town and Ocean Kayak PDL drives. I will be adding a bit of padding there for the longer days paddling. Track mounts in front of both sides of the seat can mount RAM or Scotty track mounts and hold 2 or 3 mounts each. I really like the durability of the Topwater and not having to worry about the bottom of the boat. Warhawk, same here on the reviews: all positive that I have seen. A small compartment in the PDL drive right in between the footpads can hold a phone, wallet and small tackle box with no issues. Single Layer Polyethylene construction. The seat can slide back easily so you have tons of room for standing and casting. A small dry storage in the base of the drive is a great place to store keys, wallet and phones. Interesting factoid on Old Town's Predator PDL. The back of the seat is right on the ground though so it needs to be something comfortable and dry to sit on. Hardly been used, looks factory new. Jim mentioned something to me regarding the 2017 Predator PDL, that Old Town is owned by or under the same corporate umbrella as Minn Kota. Moving parts break and wear out no matter who builds them. I remember the first time seeing a pedal-powered kayak and thinking, "That's odd. 204 kg (450 pound) capacity (including the boat). It's not like I haven't given the paddle a fair chance. Old town pdl for sale. If I am not mistaken, that would be about 1-1. One should likely be a paddle only kayak with no mechanicals, so essentially no issues. If a large object were to catch the prop while it was spinning you may have some issues. The weight can be an issue if you're trying to put it on the top of your car but if you have 2 people paddling or a wheeled kayak cart then it's not really a problem.
Stable, DoubleU hull. Native side rail storage - $39. I've added enough a few inches of padding to the cart so the frame holds the boat without touching the tires. It would take a very concerted effort to flip it. So, from the list, Native seems to jump on what I would call existential issues, yet it seems slow and unconcerned about others. I spend a lot of time on stand up paddleboards that are as wide or wider than this board but still find I have to mind my balance while standing and moving around. I try to use the kayak cart as much as possible but if I forgotten it or decided not to bring it, I've had to drag it on rocks and barnacles. Underseat Storage - included. I am really interested in this yak. They've been making them since 1868. 36" wide and a bit over 13 feet, 13-2 as I recall. So where can a bruh see one of these locally? For a roto-molded pedal drive kayak, I highly recommend it. I try to be careful when I'm in shallower water or see anything submerged. And, it is one of our great advantages... that if we later move to a pedal kayak, we always carry along a paddle so we have a second form of propulsion to "get home. I've padded through with 6 inches of water with the prop up. Old town pdl kayak propeller upgrade. The only downside to the DoubleU shape of the hull is most kayak carts don't work well with it. I like having the deep cycle for it handles the 45lb thrust motor just fine for all day fishing.
I've had 2 kids on the boat with me and even with them moving around, hardly had to think about stability. A drink holder beside the seat and 2 small side pockets beside the footpads. 5 mph speed and said it's faster than the Predator MK with the Amin Kota electric motor! Turns out that the owner is an avid kayak fisherman and owns a PDL himself. Storage runs down both sides of the boat so longer rods can fit inside as long as there's nothing blocking the hatch. 2 clamps hold the drive bar in place so unless, you've got it completely removed, it'll never fall off. The Topwater is a fishing machine. Learn to control your kayak. I am blown away with the quality of materials and craftsmanship that goes into the Predator lineup. I like a high seat and it takes a wider kayak to pull it off. It appears to have a higher top end speed at around 5.
