I almost didn't pick up Daisy Darker by Alice Feeney because it sounded TOO much like The Guest List and And Then There Were None to me, but it's VERY different, and VERY shocking — a true masterpiece of a modern thriller! This mysterious story, which has important modern-day themes and subtle commentary woven throughout (the #MeToo movement and the toxicity of male privilege hover over the narrative), makes it an interesting, engaging read that drives the readers — quite quickly — to the surprising finale.
